IRS1 Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody (21HCLC), Invitrogen™
Rabbit Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific 710009
Description
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse based on sequence homology. Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ∽150 kDa band and upon reduction generating a ∽25 kDa light chain band and a ∽50 kDa heavy chain. Recombit rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombit monoclonal antibodies, providing the best of both worlds – the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies - all delivered with the consistency only found in a recombit antibody. While functionally the same as a polyclonal antibody – recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and producing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets – a recombit rabbit polyclonal antibody has a known mixture of light and heavy chains. The exact population can be produced in every lot, circumventing the biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.
Insulin Receptor Substrate-1. The main function of IRS1 is to enhance growth hormone-induced proliferative signaling. The activated insulin receptor phosphorylates IRS proteins on multiple tyrosine residues that serve as docking sites for downstream mediators of metabolic actions such as phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase. IRS proteins also undergo serine phosphorylation, which regulates its function. Phosphorylation of human IRS-1 at serines, such as 312 and 616 (serines 307 and 612 in mouse), results in the impairment of metabolic insulin signaling pathways.Specifications
