Armenian Hamster Monoclonal Antibody

This HMJ2-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Jagged-2, one of five type I transmembrane proteins that serves as a Notch receptor ligand. Upon binding the Notch receptor (e.g., Notch 1-4), Jagged-2 undergoes proteolytic cleavage, first by ADAM-family metalloproteases and then by gamma-secretase. The second cleavage event releases an intracellular fragment whose biological function remains controversial. Jagged-2 is expressed by thymic lymphoid and stromal cells, as well as macrophages and dendritic cells in the spleen. Note: Staining of endogenous splenic dendritic (CD8^+CD11c^+) cells could only be consistently confirmed in cells isolated from C57BL/6, but not Balb/c, mice. Other strains have not been tested. The antiobdy has been reported to crossreact to rat and have blocking function. Applications Reported: This HMJ2-1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This HMJ2-1 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Excitation: 488-561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue Laser, Green Laser, Yellow-Green Laser. Filtrati...

The Notch signaling pathway is an intercellular signaling mechanism that is essential for proper embryonic development. Members of the Notch gene family encode transmembrane receptors that are critical for various cell fate decisions. JAG2 is one of several ligands that activate Notch and related receptors.
