Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Recommended positive controls: A431. Predicted reactivity: Human (99%), Mouse (97%), Rat (96%), Chicken (86%), Bovine (98%). Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.

The KCTD4 (Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 4) gene encodes a protein involved in various cellular processes, including the regulation of calcium homeostasis and modulation of fibroblast activity. KCTD4 interacts with chloride intracellular channel 1 (CLIC1) to disrupt calcium homeostasis, leading to increased fibronectin secretion, which activates fibroblasts via paracrine signaling. This activation can promote cancer cell invasion through matrix metalloproteinase 24 (MMP24) signaling. The interaction between KCTD4 and CLIC1 presents a potential target for therapeutic strategies, as inhibition of this interaction has been shown to significantly suppress cancer metastasis.
