Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA547505
Description
Specificity: Specific for the NP antigen of the virus. Reactive with several native strains. Negative for EBOLA. Non-reactive with mammalian cells (ICC/IF). Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody which has been purified from ascites fluid by protein A chromatography. The final preparation is formulated to a protein concentration of 100 μg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2 and contains 0.1% sodium azide. Each vial contains 1.0 mL. This product contains no stabilizing proteins and should be stored at 4C until ready for use. Working dilution must be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges are 1:10-1:50 for ICC/IF and 1:20-1:200. for ELISA.
Marburg virus (MBG) is a representative of Filoviridae family of RNA containing viruses. MBG is an exceptionally dangerous pathogen, which induces a severe contagious and highly lethal (53-88%) febrile disease with hemorrhagic syndrome. The name thread viruses' is based on their morphology. MBG made its appearance in 1967 in the form of frightening nosocomial outbreak, initially among polio vaccine production workers in Germany in contact with Ugandan green monkeys and their kidney tissues. The patho-and immuno-genesis of MBG fever have so far been little studied, no specific agents or treatment methods have been developed. The nucleoprotein encapsidates the viral genomic RNA by oligomerization and form a ribonucleoprotein complex.
