Description

AA Sequence of recombinant protein: GPDKAPVTCC FHVLKLKIPL RVLKSYERIN NIQCPMEAVV FQTKQGMSLC VDPTQKWVSE YMEILDQKSQ ILQP. Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine MCP-2 (CCL8). Anti-Murine MCP-2 (CCL8)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Murine MCP-2 (CCL8) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine MCP-2 (CCL8) (500-P127) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine MCP-2 (CCL8). Western Blot: To detect mMCP-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant mMCP-2 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. 500-P127BT-1MG will be provided as 2 x 500 μg

This antimicrobial gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and to the antiviral state against HIV infection.
