Rat Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody

Specificity: This antibody is specific for murine MHC class I, and binds to polymorphic H-2 determinants expressed on most haplotypes. This antibody is, therefore, able to bind all H-2 class I molecules, independent of the allele. This antibody recognises a determinant distinct from those detected by most common mouse monoclonal anti-H-2 antibodies.

Like their mammalian counterparts, avian MHC Class I molecules, also known as B-F antigens, consist of a highly polymorphic alpha-chain noncovalently bound to the invariant beta2-microglobulin subunit. MHC Class I molecules are expressed on most nucleated cells where they present endogenously synthesized antigenic peptides to CD8+ T lymphocytes, which are usually cytotoxic T cells. The monoclonal antibody F21-2 also reacts with turkey MHC Class I. HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in Immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem Mass Spectrometry.
