Three rectangular glass plates, three notched plates, two gel modules, lid, lower buffer chamber, Two each 1mm thick 10 well combs and 1mm thick spacer sets.

Performs 1-D and 2-D electrophoresis and electrotransfer in single compact unit

  • Performs two second-dimension separations using 7cm IPG strips in 1.5 hr.
  • Runs two mini-gels or four mini-blots at once, using 10 × 10.5cm gel cassettes for increased separation distances
  • Completes semi-wet blotting in 45 min. with only 300mL buffer
  • Casts, runs, and blots mini-gels in four streamlined components: gel module, blot module, lower buffer chamber and safety lid
Design
  • Modular
  • Uniform gel temperature is maintained with tank-style lower buffer chamber
  • Full tank stabilizes temperature so that lanes are straight and bands are flat
  • Blot Module will accept two gel/membrane stacks simultaneously
  • Lower buffer chamber is designed to hold two Blot Modules, allowing four gels to be blotted at once
Load, clamp, and cast
  • Gel module is simultaneously a casting stand and an upper buffer chamber with integrated clamps
  • Assembles gel sandwich of plates and spacers, clamps it onto upper buffer chamber, then pivot sealing gasket and cast gel
  • After polymerization, release bottom seal and drop assembly into tank for running
Length and dimensions
  • Handles gel cassettes up to 10 × 10.5cm (W × H), which increases separation length by more than 30% over conventional 10 × 8 cm gels
  • Compatible with glass plates, combs, and spacers of SE 260 Mini-Vertical units
  • For gradient gels, mini-Vertical Gel Casters can produce up to four identical gels at one time
