Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

AA Sequence of recombinant protein: AAIGSCSKEY RVLLGQLQKQ TDLMQDTSRL LDPYIRIQGL DVPKLREHCR ERPGAFPSEE TLRGLGRRGF LQTLNATLGC VLHRLADLEQ RLPKAQDLER SGLNIEDLEK LQMARPNILG LRNNIYCMAQ LLDNSDTAEP TKAGRGASQP PTPTPASDAF QRKLEGCRFL HGYHRFMHSV GRVFSKWGES PNRSRRHSPH QALRKGVRRT RPSRKGKRLM TRGQLPR. Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Oncostatin M. Anti-Human Oncostatin M-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human Oncostatin M matrix. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human Oncostatin M by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human Oncostatin M (500-P30Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Oncostatin M. Western Blot: To detect hOncostatin M by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant hOncostatin M is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth and differentiation factor that participates in the regulation of neurogenesis, osteogenesis and hematopoiesis. Produced by activated T cells, monocytes and Kaposi's sarcoma cells, OSM can exert both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. It stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells and Kaposi's sarcoma cells, but inhibits the growth of some normal and tumor cell lines. It also promotes cytokine release (e.g. IL-6, GM-CSF and G-CSF) from endothelial cells, and enhances the expression of low-density lipoprotein receptors in hepatoma cells. OSM shares several structural and functional characteristics with LIF, IL-6, and CNTF.
