Description

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

This antibody does not cross-react with mouse Osteocalcin. Mouse anti Human Osteocalcin antibody, clone 2H9F11F8 recognizes intact human and bovine osteocalcin in a 2 site assay and reacts with osteocalcin fragments corresponding to amino acids 15-31 and 20-43 of the native molecule.

Osteocalcin belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla-protein family and constitutes 1-2% of the total bone protein. It binds strongly to apatite and calcium. Gamma-carboxyglutamate residues are formed by vitamin K dependent carboxylation. These residues are essential for the binding of calcium.
