Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

PA1-4177 detects human p8 (com1). PA1-4177 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~9 kDa protein representing Human p8 (com1) in HepGe cell lysates. The PA1-4177 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues Q(13) P P G P E D E D S S L D E S D(28) of human p8.

The human p8 gene encodes a nuclear protein with strong mitogenic activity, which is expressed in the pancreas in response to acute pancreatitis. Response to TNF alpha and staurosporine-induced apoptosis is not modified by p8 expression. However, cells expressing p8 grow significantly and more rapidly.
