Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. This affinity purified antibody is directed against human PI 3 Kinase p55 gamma. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with the antigen based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence to mouse and rat, 94.1% homology to bovine.

PIK3R3 binds to activated (phosphorylated) protein-tyrosine kinases through its SH2 domain and regulates their kinase activity. During insulin stimulation, it also binds to IRS-1. It is a component of a heterodimer of p110 (catalytic) and p55 (regulatory) subunits. The protein is expressed at highest levels in brain and testis. Lower levels are detected in adipose tissue, kidney, heart, lung and skeletal muscle. The protein contains 2 SH2 domains.
