Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Specifically detects Bcl-B in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Western Blotting

The protein named Bcl-2-like protein 10 (Bcl2-L-10) or alternatively Anti-apoptotic protein NrH or Apoptosis regulator Bcl-B, and encoded by the human gene BCL2L10/BCLB is member of the BcL2 anti-apoptosis family and promotes cell survival by suppressing the actions of BAX and BAK in destabilizing the mitochondrial membrane potential leading to apoptosis activation. Bcl-B can interact with Bcl-2, BcL2L1/BCL-XL, and BAX. It is expressed in the cytoplasm and interacts primarily at the mitochondrial membranes. Bcl-B is abundantly expressed in human embryos prior to implantation and was predominantly cytoplasmic with localization at the mitochondria in normal embryos. In abnormal embryos Bcl-B was outside the mitochondria as well as nuclear located, but the exact nature of the role of Bcl-B in abnormal embryos is still be elucidated. Interestingly, Bcl-B because of its anti-apoptotic effects is also the cause for anti-cancer drug resistance and it is used a marker for potential drug failures in anti-cancer therapy.
