MilliporeSigma™ Rabbit anti-IFIT3, Polyclonal,
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: MilliporeSigma™ ABF1048
Description
Specifically detects IFIT3 in Human, Mouse samples, and it is validated for Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), Immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting
Interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 3 (UniProt Q64345; also known as GARG-49, Glucocorticoid-attenuated response gene 49 protein. IFIT-3, IRG2, p49) is encoded by the Ifit3 (also known as Garg49, Ifi49, Isg49) gene (Gene ID 5959) in murine species. IFIT1, IFIT2, and IFIT3 constitute the family of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) that are induced in response to virus infection, stimulation by interferons (IFNs), or double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). The proteins encoded by IFIT1 and IFIT2 are called ISG56 (p56) and ISG54 (p54) in both human and murine species, while the protein encoded by IFIT3 is of a different size in murine (ISG49 or p49) than its human counterpart (ISG60 or p60). Studies conducted in murine species reveals that the three members exhibit distinct properties and induction patterns in different cell types. While all three murine proteins are shown to bind the c-subunit of the translation initiation factor eIF3, p49/Ifit3 does not inhibit protein synthesis as p56/Ifit1 and p54/Ifit2.
