Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Specifically detects IRF7 in Mouse samples, and it is validated for Chromatin Immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting

Mouse Interferon regulatory factor 7 or IRF-7 (UniProt P70434) is encoded by the murine irf7 gene (Entrez Gene ID 54123). IFN-γ-induced gene activations are mediated by both signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs) and interferon regulatory factors (IRFs). STAT1 dimer, for example, stimulates immediate transcription by binding IFN-γ-activated site (GAS) sequence in the promoter region of target genes. While a delayed, secondary transcription activation is observed among IFN-γ target genes containing an IFN regulatory factors (IRF) binding site within the interferon-stimulated response element (ISRE) sequence. Irf7 transcription is shown to be activated by STAT1 and IRF9 in response to type II interferon (IFN) IFN-γ stimulation in MEF cultures. The expressed IRF7 protein then further cooperates with STAT1 and IRF1 to stimulate the expression of a subset of IFN-γ-induced STAT1 target genes (PMID 22252317). Anti-IRF7 is a rabbit polyclonal antiserum raised against recombinant GST fusion protein (PMID 22252317) encompassing murine IRF7 C-terminal half sequence. This antiserum specifically detects INF-gamma-induced IRF7 expression and chromatin association in Wt, but not Irf7-/- MEF by Western blotting and ChIP application, respectively (PMID 22252317). Murine IRF7 has a calculated M.W. of 51.2kDa, but migrates with an apparent M.W. of ∽60kDa by SDS-PAGE.
