MilliporeSigma™ Rabbit anti-TERT, Polyclonal,
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: MilliporeSigma™ ABE2075
Description
Specifically detects TERT in Human, Mouse, Rat samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blotting
Telomerase reverse transcriptase (EC 2.7.7.49; UniProt O14746; also known as hEST2, hTRT, Telomerase-associated protein 2, Telomerase catalytic subunit, TP2) is encoded by the TERT (also known as CMM9, DKCA2, DKCB4, EST2, PFBMFT1, TCS1, TRT) gene (Gene ID 7015) in human. Human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) is the catalytic subunit of the telomerase. It is responsible for adding TTAGGG repeats to the chromosome telomere ends, which is an important event in maintaining cell immortality. The hTERT expression level is very low in most normal human cells, wherease greater than 90 % of human tumor cells of different pathology and origins are shown to display up-regulated telomerase expression, making hTERT a target for cancer therapy.
