Invitrogen™ RGS13 Polyclonal Antibody
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ PA568626
Description
This target displays homology in the following species: Cow: 100%; Dog: 100%; Horse: 92%; Human: 100%; Mouse: 93%; Rabbit: 93%; Rat: 100%.
RGS13 is the smallest member of the mammalian gene family, RGS (regulators of G protein-signaling) which are structural and functional homologues of yeast SST2 and C. elegans egl-10 proteins. RGS proteins attenuate G protein-mediated pathways by acting as GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) for Ga subunits. RGS13 has been found most abundantly in human tonsil, thymus, lung, lymph node, and spleen. RGS13 regulate Gai, Gaq, and Gas coupled signaling cascades. It is a GTPase-activating protein for Gai and Gao. The protein blocks MAPK activity induced by Gai- or Gaq-coupled receptors. The protein also attenuates GTPase-deficient Gaq (GaqQL) mediated cAMP response element activation. The gene encoding for human RGS13 is localized on chromosome 1q31.2.
