Rabbit Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody

MA5-29982 cross reacts with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Nucleoprotein in ELISA and WB. This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire. This antibody has specificity for Human SARS Coronavirus Nucleoprotein/NP.

SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein is associated with nucleic acid. It is the most abundant protein for coronavirus. Because of the strong immunogenicity of coronavirus Nucleocapsid, it is believed that SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein has potential value for the diagnosis of the virus. The SARS-CoV-2 N protein is an abundant RNA-binding protein critical for viral genome packaging, yet the molecular details that involve this process are poorly understood. N protein contains three dynamic disordered regions that house putative transiently-helical binding motifs. The two folded domains interact minimally such that full-length N protein is a flexible and multivalent RNA-binding protein. SARS-CoV-2 causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to severe diseases.
