Description

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. This Protein A purified antibody is directed against mouse Setdb2. Expect reactivity with Setdb2 from mouse and human sources. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Proteins that contain a SET domain, such as SETDB2, modulate gene expression epigenetically through histone H3 methylation. SETDB2 is likely a histone H3 methyltransferase, as it contains both the active site and flanking cysteine residues required for catalytic activity (Zhang et al., 2003 ).
