Description
MA1-845 detects amplified in breast cancer-1 (AIB1) in human cells. MA1-845 has been successfully used in Western blot and immunoprecipitation, ChIP, and immunohistochemistry procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~155 kDa protein representing AIB1 from MCF-7 cell extract. The MA1-845 immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 605-1294 of human AIB1.
AIB1-AC3 recognizes AIB1, a member of the SRC-1 family of nuclear receptor coactivators with an apparent molecular weight of 160kDa. The AIB1 gene has been mapped to region 20q12 and has been shown to be amplified in breast tumors and pancreatic cancer cell lines. AIB1 interacts in a ligand-dependent fashion with the estrogen receptor to enhance estrogen-dependent transcriptional gene activation.
