TDRD3 belongs to the tudor domain group of proteins, which are prevalent among proteins involved in RNA metabolism. TDRD3 is widely expressed and localizes predomitly in the cytoplasm. It is detected in heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas. Overexpression of TDRD3 in cells induces the formation of stress granules. Multiple isoforms of TDRD3 exist due to alternative splicing varients. In humans, the gene is located on chromosome 13.Specifications
