PEP-038 is a 17 amino acid synthetic peptide whose sequence corresponds to carboxy terminus amino acid residues 644-659 of rat PMP70 protein. This sequence is completely conserved in mouse PMP68. The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): (C)-N644-Y-E-F-K-K-I-T-E-D-T-V-E-F-G-S659 (A cysteine residue was added to facilitate coupling KLH).This peptide may be used for neutralization and control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product and rat PMP70 and mouse PMP68, catalog # PA1-650 and PA1.1-650. Using a solution with equal weights per unit volume of peptide and corresponding antibody will yield a solution with a large molar excess of peptide that is able to competitively bind the antibody.Reconstitute with 0.1 ml of distilled water.
