Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Description: BMS1046 (LTX-22) is reportded for ELISA and ICH applications. Applications Tested: ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen). Source: Plant expressed 164 amino acids (Cys32-Thr194) with 16 amino acid Histidine tag. accession NP_002000. Bioactivity: The ED50 of this protein, as measured by proliferation assay of 4MBr5 monkey epthelial cells, is less than or equal to 4 ng/mL. This corresponds to a specific activity of greater than or equal to 2.5 x 10e5 Units/mg. Endotoxin: Less than 0.005 ng/ug (0.05 EU/ug) as measured by turbidity assay. Purity: Greater than or equal to 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Molecular Weight: 21.2 kDa but with glycosylation the apparent molecular weights are 26 and 28 kDa.

TNF beta, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4 and psoriatic arthritis.
