Description

Specifically developed for measuring the Ignition Strength (IS) of Cigarettes. Whatman™ Qualitative Filter Paper Circles - Grade 2 for IS Measurement are manufactured under strict control; each lot is tested and certified as meeting the requirements of ASTM E2187.

Grade 2 IS paper is used to test for reduced ignition propensity in cigarettes. It acts as a heat sink; the paper is not set alight during the test. Inter-and intra-batch consistency of the paper is critical to ensure the repeatability of the test.
