(Z)-Guggulsterone, a constituent of the Indian Ayurvedic medicinal plant *Commiphora mukul*, has been shown to inhibit the growth of human prostate cancer cells by inducing apoptosis. It also inhibits angiogenesis by suppressing the VEGF-VEGF-R2-Akt signaling pathway. Additionally, (Z)-Guggulsterone acts as a potent FXR antagonist and has been observed to reduce ACE2 expression and SARS-CoV-2 infection.
