Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

Applications: Demanding lab, chemical, electrical, mechanical, pharmaceutical, and automotive applications. Excellent for the transfer of extreme temperature or highly corrosive materials. Also good for high-purity work. Characteristics: Chemically inert, nontoxic, heat resistant, with a low coefficient of friction. Doesn¿t deteriorate with age. Tough, but bends even at -454¿F (-270¿C). Translucent. Certifications: Resin is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.1550). Tubing is manufactured in ISO 9001-2008 approved facility. Temperature range: -454 to 400¿F (-270 to 205¿C) Sterilize: Autoclave, ethylene oxide, or use dry heat.

Also good for high-purity work. Characteristics: Chemically inert, nontoxic, and virtually nonporous. Excellent crack- and stress-resistance. Low coefficient of friction. Translucent. Resin certification: Resin is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.1550); meets USP Class VI requirements. Tubing is manufactured according to GMP. Temperature range: -320 to 500¿F (-195 to 260¿C) Sterilize: Autoclave, ethylene oxide, or use dry heat.

Characteristics: Peroxide-cured, excellent heat resistance, low compression set, odorless, nontoxic, translucent. Certification: Elastomer is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.2600) and meets USP Class VI requirements. Tubing is manufactured according to GMP. Electron Microscopy Sciences Silicone Staining Pad 5" x 3" x ½"
Made from white silicone, a non-reactive material. Pad has 40 cells in 5 rows of 8 each. Each cell is half-sphere shaped with an opening of 6 mm dia. and 5 mm deep. A few drops of staining solution is added to the wells and grids are then immersed and retrieved as per staining procedure. A watch-glass plate comes with each dish to reduce oxygen and evaporation.
