Special mixed layer of silica and a strongly acidic cation exchanger coated to polyester plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: Amino acids, e.g., in protein and peptide hydrolysates, in seeds and fodder, in biological fluids; for racemate separation in peptide syntheses, for the separation of nucleic acid hydrolyzates, amino sugars, amino acids, antibiotics, inorganic phosphates, cations and other compounds with ionic groups.

"Silica G" is a standard grade, unmodified Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. This analytical soft layer is bound to a plastic support. It has a thickness of 200um and dimensions of 5x20cm. There are 50 plates per pack.

Cellulose 300 PEI, polyester backed TLC plates contain fibrous cellulose impregnated with polyethyleneimine. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: analysis of nucleic acids, and of mutagenic substances with the 32P post-labelling procedure (see Sorbtech Application No. 402260.) Cellulose ion exchange layers are suited for the separation of substances with exchange-active groups. Consequently they are used for the separation of amino acids, peptides, enzymes, nucleic acid constituents (nucleotides, nucleosides) etc. PEI is not a chemically modified cellulose, but a complex of cellulose and poly- ethyleneimine. PEI cellulose is a relatively strong anion exchanger. PEI layers should be stored in a refrigerator at 4C. An important application of CEL 300 PEI is the analysis of mutagenic substances with a 32P postlabelling procedure.

The plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This preparative soft layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 1000um and dimensions of 20x20cm. There are 15 plates per pack.

Alumina Neutral for TLC has a pH of about 7.4, particle distribution of 5-25um, and a quantity of 1kg. When combined with a binding agent, this alumina can be used for the making of analytical TLC plates. It can also be used in a packed column format for extra high resolution.

This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C2 Silica layer. It can be developed with purely organic, organic/aqueous and purely aqueous eluents. Thus the phase finds numerous applications in normal phase chromatography as well as in the reversed phase mode. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 5-17um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to a glass support.
