Gold Biotechnology Inc Cobalt Agarose Beads (High Density) 25 mL
Available in bulk or in prepacked columns, cobalt has a binding capacity of >25 mg/ml with approximately 60 kDa protein. Cobalt binds fewer host protein contaminants, resulting in lower background than nickel resins and no metal contamination in eluted histidine-tagged protein sample. In addition, it allows for purification of proteins under native or denaturing conditions. Cobalt Agarose works very well with Ni/Cu/Co Resin Wash Buffer and Histidine Protein Elution Buffer.

It is widely used for nucleic acid electrophoresis (analytical and preparative), protein electrophoresis (including radial immunodiffusion) and various blotting protocols.
It's low EEO (≤ 0.13 -mr) promotes increased electrophoretic mobility, yielding improved resolution and shorter run times. This also allows macromolecules and larger particles (subcellular fragments, viruses, etc.) to migrate more freely through the gel matrix. The consistently low EEO also provides a reduction in band distortion (caused by counterflow) that can result from the presence of excessive sulfate-rich negative ions.
