This special grinding bowl in combination with a 10 mm steel grinding ball is primarily used to grind biological sample, like for example deep freeze tissue, cells, etc.. The entire bowl can be pre-cooled in liquid nitrogen. Afterwards the sample is subsequently comminuted in sub-zero temperature.

Sieve inserts determine the fineness of a sample.
Sieve inserts with trapezoidal perforation and square perforations are offered. Sieve inserts with trapezoidal perforations improve size reduction through extra shearing action. Sieve inserts with square perforation are recommended for the grinding of brittle materials and materials of medium fineness with a narrow grain band.
The sieve inserts made of chromium free steel ST12 are especially recommended for the sample preparation according to RoHS and WEEE (for the poof of hexavalent chromium) and for the XRF- analysis.
For all other applications sieve inserts made of stainless steel may be used since these are harder and more resilient against abrasion.

Collecting vessels (stainless steel) for PULVERISETTE 19 and PULVERISETTE 25 are available in a range of sizes.
This collecting vessel has a volume of 3 litres.
For grinding large quantities the 10 Litre volume collecting vessel is recommended.

This rotor with V-cutting edges and fixed knives made of chromium-free tool steel grinds the sample gently through a pure cutting action.
Alternatively a rotor with straight cutting edges and fixed knives made of chromium-free tool steel is offered, which also grinds the samples gently with a pure cutting action, but can only be used for easily cut materials and therefore does not offer an as effective size reduction like the rotor with V-cutting edges.
The rotors made of chromium-free tool steel are especially recommended for the sample preparation according to RoHS and WEEE (for the verification of hexavalent chromium) and for the XRF-analysis.
For all other applications we recommend our cutting tool set made of tool steel and hardmetal tungsten carbide, since these are harder and therefore more resilient against abrasion.
