These MatTek PermaCell cell culture inserts have a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane with a pore size of 0.4 µm and are used in a 24-well plate for cell attachment, cell culture, cell differentiation, drug transport, and permeability studies. MatTek PermaCell Inserts are advanced cell culture devices that are sterile and used for growth and differentiation of cells. MatTek PermaCell Inserts are single-use individual 8mm inserts that can be used in 6-, 12-, and 24-well culture plate formats. The inserts are uniquely functional as either standing or hanging inserts, allowing researchers increased flexibility when designing studies. Various membrane types allow researchers to select inserts for specific needs, such as cell attachment, culture, differentiation, drug transport/permeability, and imaging studies.These 8 mm inserts come packaged, pre-inserted, in a 24-well plate.

The micro–Insert 4 Well is a biocompatible, silicone insert ideal for long term microscopy and stem cell cultivation. The micro–Insert has a special sticky bottom that prevents leaking on clean, flat, and dry surfaces, such as microscopy slides and dishes. Adherent or non–adherent cells placed into the small wells sink to the bottom and can be analyzed microscopically. The wells provide rectangular digital format (4:3) for covering the entire area by CCD cameras on microscopes. Tapered walls provide excellent optical access to cells located near the edges of the well. The ibidi Culture-Insert family is developed for wound healing, co-cultivation, and migration assays of adherent cells. The Culture-Insert 2 Well consists of two wells, separated by a 500 µm wall. A proprietary biocompatible adhesive is applied to the underside of the Culture-Insert which allows it to adhere to any flat, clean, and dry surface. A cell suspension can be placed in the wells allowing the adherent cells to grow in the designated areas only. After cell cultivation, the Culture-Insert can be removed by using sterile tweezers.
