The Zyppy Plasmid Miniprep Kit is a plasmid DNA kit that features a pellet-free modified alkaline lysis system that bypasses the normal cell-pelleting and resuspension steps common to classical plasmid preparation procedures. Zymo Research Corporation Quick-DNA Fecal/Soil Microbe MicroPrep™ Kit (50 Preps)
The kit can be used to successfully isolate DNA from tough-to-lyse Gram positive and negative bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, etc. that inhabit fecal and soil samples. The procedure is easy and can be completed in as little as 15 minutes: fecal samples (50 mg each) or soil samples (250 mg each) are added directly to a ZR BashingBead™ Lysis Tube (0.1 & 0.5 mm) and rapidly and efficiently lysed by bead beating without the use of organic denaturants or proteinases. The DNA is then isolated using our Zymo-Spin™ Technology, which is subsequently filtered to remove humic acids/polyphenols that inhibit PCR. The DCC-500 features a single-buffer system that allows for efficient DNA adsorption onto the matrix of the supplied Zymo-Spin™ VI Column. Simply add the specially formulated DNA Binding Buffer to your samples and transfer the mixtures to the supplied Zymo-Spin™ VI Column. The DNA is washed then eluted with a small volume ( 2 ml) of water or supplied DNA Elution Buffer using a centrifuge. The purified DNA is ideal for DNA ligation, sequencing, labeling, PCR, microarray, transfection, transformation, and restriction digestion procedures. The entire DNA purification/concentration procedure typically takes less than 20 minutes.
