Albumin, Bovine Fraction V, fatty acid free, low endotoxin, cell culture reagent, Off White Shiny Flakes
Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is used extensively as a carrier protein to dilute antibodies and as a general blocking agent in immunoassays and immunodetection protocols. Physical State: Freeze-dried solid Storage: Store freeze-dried powder at 2-8°C. Weigh out desired amount and dissolve in desired buffer. Prepare working dilution fresh each day.

Bovine Serum Albumin (IgG-Free, Protease-Free)
Heat shock fraction, protease free, fatty acid free, essentially globulin free, pH 7, ≥98%, Synonym: Albumin bovine serum, BSA, Bovine albumin. Bovine Serum Albumin has been used: as a constituent of the medium used for the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells, in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and sandwich ELISA, and to permeabilize fetal cortical cells.

Bovine serum albumin is a model protein in various studies and is made up of 583 amino acids. It is a water-soluble protein with a molecular weight of 66.4kDa. Six α-helices form three homologous domains of BSA. Depending on pH, it undergoes reversible conformational isomerization. The native structure of the protein becomes reactive and flexible on heating. A heat shock fraction, lyophilized powder, essentially fatty acid free, ≥98% (agarose gel electrophoresis)
Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is used for various biochemical applications including ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), high content screening assays, western blotting, FACS Buffer and immunohistochemistry. BSA as a blocking reagent is particularly useful with casein-sensitive antibodies, such as phospho-specific antibodies. Also used as a nutrient in cell and microbial culture. In restriction digests, BSA is used to stabilize some enzymes during digestion of DNA and to prevent adhesion of the enzyme to reaction tubes and other vessels. Bovine Serum Albumin can also be used to determine the quantity of other proteins, by comparing an unknown quantity of protein to known amounts of BSA.

Rat Serum Albumin, His Tag (RSA-R52H1) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Glu 25 - Ala 608 (Accession # P02770).
Human albumin or serum albumin is encoded by the ALB gene and is the most abundant plasma protein in mammals. Human albumin is essential for maintaining the osmotic pressure needed for proper distribution of body fluids between intravascular compartments and body tissues. Human albumin also acts as a plasma carrier by non-specifically binding several hydrophobic steroid hormones and as a transport protein for hemin and fatty acids. Too much serum albumin in the body can be harmful.
