Solvent for ninhydrin color reagent2-Methoxy ethanol is used as a solvent for various purposes like varnishes, dyes, cleaning agents, epoxy coating, paints, anti-icing fuel additive in aviation and resins. It is involved in the preparation of Vaska’s complex viz. trans-chlorocarbonylbis(triphenylphosphine)iridium(I) and ruthenium hydridechlorocarbonyl tristriphenylphosphine. Further, it is also used in the synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles and Rho-associated kinase inhibitors.
