Description
Reacts with cell -surface MHC class II-associated invariant chain molecule (41, 35, 33 kD). CD74 is moderately expressed on B cells, weakly on monocytes and macrophages. Other reactive cells include Langerhans cells, dendritic cells, a subset of activated T cells and thymic epithelium. CD74 is postulated to play a role in antigen processing and presentation through intracellular transport and expression of class II molecules on the cell surface.
