Test Specificity Monoclonal Anti-Clathrin Light Chain reacts specifically with the clathrin light chain. The epitope recognized by the antibody resides within amino acids 23-44 of bovine clathrin light chains, LCa and LCb. This region is not involved in heavy chain binding, and is completely conserved in all mammals. The product is useful in immunoblotting 2-4 (two doublets at 25-36 kDa, a doublet at approximately 56 kDa, and possibly also additional lower and higher molecular weight bands), immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry (4% paraformaldehyde- 0.5% Triton X-100 fixation), and immunoaffinity purification. Cross-reactivity has been observed with human, bovine, rat, mouse, and yeast.
