Gibco™ Bacto™ CD Supreme Fermentation Production Medium Plus
Description
Gibco Bacto CD Supreme Fermentation Production Medium (FPM) Plus is the next-generation, chemically defined formulation designed to support a wide range of Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains used in plasmid DNA and recombinant protein production. This hydrolysate-free medium enhances microbial culture performance in both batch and fed-batch fermentation processes, offering superior consistency and flexibility across manufacturing scales.
Features of Bacto CD Supreme FPM Plus include:
- Consistency with a 100% chemically defined, hydrolysate-free formulation that minimizes lot-to-lot variability
- Expanded strain compatibility to include E. coli strains such as DH10B, BL21(DE3), NEB™ Stable, Stbl2, Stbl3, JM109, and other auxotrophic variants
- Simplified workflows using a one-part, ready-to-use formulation that eliminates manual media preparation
- Easy adaptation to your process with format options and compatibility with filtration or autoclave sterilization methods
- Reduced regulatory risk with a formulation free from raw materials of animal origin or materials produced using animal-derived components
Bacto CD Supreme FPM Plus is engineered to deliver reliable and reproducible growth performance across diverse E. coli host strains, including Thi-1 mutant and auxotrophic variants. Its chemically defined composition helps ensure optimal nutrient availability without the variability introduced by hydrolysates. The medium supports high-density cultures in both batch and fed-batch modes, enabling efficient plasmid DNA or recombinant protein yield.
For fed-batch processes Bacto CD Supreme FPM Plus can be combined with Bacto CD Supreme Feed (Cat. Nos. A9378201, A9378301, A9378302) to support increased biomass accumulation and yields
This one-part, easy-to-use formulation integrates smoothly into existing manufacturing workflows and is compatible with standard sterilization methods. It is produced without any materials of animal origin, minimizing regulatory complexity and eliminating TSE/BSE risk concerns.
