Invitrogen™ CD169 (Siglec-1) Monoclonal Antibody (7-239), Super Bright™ 436, eBioscience™, Invitrogen™

Description
Description: This 7-239 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD169, also known as Siglec-1 and Sialoadhesin. This type I transmembrane protein is a member of the sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin (Siglec) family. Expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells in peripheral blood, lymph nodes, and spleen in humans, CD169 binds glycoproteins and glycolipids containing N-acetylneuraminyl alpha 2-3-galactose. CD169 expression can also be induced on CD14+ monocytes by interferon-alpha and interferon-gamma to mediate HIV-1 infection. Finally, CD169 has also been shown to be involved in antigen presentation to invariant NK T cells. This monoclonal antibody has been reported to inhibit erythrocyte binding to CD169-expressing cells. Applications Reported: This 7-239 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This 7-239 antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis . This may be used at 5 μL (0.25 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. Super Bright 436 can be excited with the violet laser line (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. We recommend using a 450/50 bandpass filter, or equivalent. Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochrome.
