Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Description: This 201A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD303a, which is also known as CLEC4C or Blood Dendritic Cell Antigen 2 (BDCA-2). This type II transmembrane protein is expressed almost exclusively on plasmacytoid dendritic cells, which secrete type I interferon during antiviral and antitumor responses. Studies have demonstrated that CD303a binds asialo-galactosyl-oligosaccharides on invading pathogens, resulting in the activation of signaling pathways that lead to CD303a internalization and downregulation of interferon production. Applications Reported: This 201A antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This 201A antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. This can be used at 5 μL (0.25 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®. eFluor® 450 emits at 445 nm and is excited with the Violet laser (405 nm). Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochome. Excitation: 405 nm; Emission: 445 nm; Laser: Violet Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.

This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain superfamily. Members of this family share a common protein fold and have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. The encoded type 2 transmembrane protein may play a role in dendritic cell function. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
