For use with GC instruments
- All liners are deactivated using high temperature (420°C [788°F]) gas phase deactivation
- Supplied in blister packs to prevent contamination
- Reduced active sites mean no unwanted reaction in samples
- Include two tapered sections that secure the quartz wool plug for optimum needle tip wiping and sample transfer—also prevent quartz wool from shifting towards the septum or pushing down into the liner
- Provide excellent reproducibility
- Results in lower mass discrimination
- Fast FocusLiners have a narrow 2.3mm I.D. for use with 0.1mm I.D. capillary columns—narrow I.D. also results in smaller peak widths
- Quartz wool in some split liners promotes analyte mixing and results in better quantitation, provides a large surface area that aids in liquid sample vaporization, acts as a trap to collect nonvolatile residue from sample, and prevents sample from hitting the bottom of the injector before volatilization
- Tapers in some splitless liners minimize contact of analytes with the bottom of the injection port –especially useful for very active compounds; also channel analytes into column for a more robust column installation
