Description: This B33fc8k monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6k, a member of the Ly6/uPAR superfamily. Ly-6k is a GPI linked protein predomitly found on the cell surface. One study suggests expression may also be non-membranous. Expression is found on B cells and reported to be on plasma cells as well as cells in the testis. Using the B33fc8k monoclonal antibody, expression is on a B lymphocyte cell subset in the spleen that correlates to transitional cells (CD23-IgM-). In humans Ly-6k has been found associated with carcinomas of the head and testis. Applications Reported: This B33fc8k antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This B33fc8k antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analyis of mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Excitation: 488-561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue Laser, Green Laser, Yellow-Green Laser. Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Granulocytes are a category of white blood cells characterised by the presence of granules in their cytoplasm. They are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML) because of the varying shapes of the nucleus, which is usually lobed into three segments. In common parlance, the term polymorphonuclear leukocyte often refers specifically to neutrophil granulocytes, the most abundant of the granulocytes. Granulocytes or PMN are released from the bone marrow by the regulatory complement proteins.
