N-Myc protein is member of the MYC family of transcription factor proteins with a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. N-Myc is similarly regulated and functionally complementary to C-Myc in the context of various cellular growth and differentiation processes. MYCN gene is considered the hallmark of neuroblastoma, amplification and overexpression of the MYCN proto-oncogene occurs in approximately 20% of neuroblastomas and is associated with advanced stage disease, rapid tumor progression, and poor prognosis.Specifications
