Description

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. This affinity purified antibody is directed against human SQSTM1/p62. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with the antigen based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence to human, mouse, rat, and Pongo abelii. Cross reactivity with SQSTM1 from other sources has not been determined.

This gene encodes a multifunctional protein that binds ubiquitin and regulates activation of the nuclear factor kappa-B signaling pathway. The protein functions as a scaffolding/adaptor protein in concert with TNF receptor-associated factor 6 to mediate activation of NF-kB in response to upstream signals. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding either the same or different isoforms have been identified for this gene. Mutations in this gene result in sporadic and familial Paget disease of bone.
