DL-α-Tocopherol acetate is a vitamin E derivative that is frequently incorporated into formulations for enteral nutrition. In vivo, it increases tissue cholesterol levels in the liver, brain, testis, and heart, with brain cholesterol levels being significantly higher when adjusted for protein level.
