West Condensers

West condensers are a thinner version of the Liebig condenser with a cone and socket that allows for the increased flow rate of water to provide high cooling efficiency. West condensers are efficient at cooling because they have a narrow annular space between the fused-on coolant jacket and inner tube. West condensers typically have a lower inner drip tip joint and a standard taper outer joint, with a water hose connected to the condenser’s bottom. Water then exits the condenser through a hose connected to the top. The water, because it is contained in a sealed tube, does not come in direct contact with any vapor being condensed.
