RhoA activates Rho-kinase, which phosphorylates MBS and inactivates myosin phosphatase. Overexpression or activation of RhoA increases MBS and MLC phosphorylation. This pathway regulates the balance of actin and myosin interaction. Several isoforms of this gene have been identified due to alternative splicing.
