Microtubes
Single-use containers designed to hold microliter to milliliter quantities of liquid. Products may be sterile/non-sterile, come with or without a variety of caps (screw, tether, snap), and may be suitable for use in microcentrifuges.
High quality standard snap cap microtubes, or microcentrifuge tubes, are essential for the safe processing of low to medium sized sample volume applications in clinical chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology. Ideal for protein research, mass spectrometry, protein array, sample preparation, microcentrifugation and sample storage, they are available in a variety of colours, including amber and black for light sensitive samples.
The snap cap provides a safe, liquid-tight seal and some flat top caps include a needle insertion spot. Some microtubes are also available with additional safety lock snap caps to minimise sample loss during the centrifugation process and to provide added security when working with samples that are radioactive or which pose a biohazard.

Available as sterile or non-sterile, polypropylene microtubes can also feature low binding properties to reduce protein and nucleic acid loss and hence better sample recovery.

MTC Bio cryogenic vials are designed to hold, store and preserve biological materials for days, weeks, years, or decades. These thick-walled tubes are outfitted with silicone O-rings that allow them to maintain their seal at temperatures as low as -196°C. Sterilized by gamma irradiation, the tubes are packed in reasealable bags of 50 tubes (10 bags per case) and are sterilzied by gamma. MTC Bio’s 5mL MacroTube™ family takes all of the conveniences of 1.5mL tubes and scales them up for larger volumes and throughput applications. In many cases, they replace 15mL tubes, dramatically reducing plastic waste, storage space and shipping costs. Additionally, the 56mm length (vs. 120mm for 15mL tubes) greatly reduces the risk of contamination of pipettor shafts, allowing 1mL or 5mL tips to easily reach the tube bottom. The tubes are made of high clarity, low-binding, virgin polypropylene and are certified RNase and DNase free. Micrewtube Tubes feature an O-ring seal screw cap and attachment loop. Loops remain attached to the tubes and prevent cross contamination.
