Active Motif 293 nuclear extract
Active Motif's 293 nuclear extract was prepared from cell cultures of the Human Embryonic Kidney (HEK) 293 cell line. This cell line was originally derived from transformation of normal human embryonic tissue cultures with a sheared DNA fragment of the left arm of the adenoviral 5 viral genome. These cells are commonly used in research due to their ease of growth and transfectability. However, since the cellular origin of these hypotriploid cells is poorly understood, they are not recommended for use as an in vitro model for kidney cell function. 293 nuclear extract contains all the basal transcriptional and mRNA splicing components and serves as an ideal cell-free platform for analysis of transcription and pre-mRNA processing mechanisms.

Enzo Life Sciences BIO-PROBE 3'-Oligonucleotide labeling system reagent pack (25Reactions)
The procedure for labeling of DNA probes with a polynucleotide "tail" containing hapten-labeled nucleotides was developed by Enzo. In such terminal labeling reactions, terminal transferase catalyzes the addition of nucleotides to any 3'-OH terminus in a template independent manner. This rapid and convenient nonradioactive labeling procedure is free of any sequence bias that is normally observed in random priming or nick translation reactions. Terminal labeling is an ideal procedure for the labeling of oligonucleotides. An oligonucleotide can be synthesized using standard, commercially available reagents and labeled after synthesis in a simple and reproducible enzyme reaction. The BIO-PROBE 3'-Oligonucleotide Labeling System provides maximum flexibility for labeling oligonucleotides approximately 15 to 100 nucleotides in length. A standard reaction will label up to 100 picomoles. Applications: Southern Blot, Northern Blot, ISH (in situ hybridization), Dot Blot.
