GPRP acetate (Gly-Pro-Arg-Pro acetate) is a fibrin polymerization inhibitor that works by inhibiting the interaction of fibrinogen with the platelet membrane glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex (GPIIb/IIIa). In studies, it has been shown to alleviate DSS-induced colitis by improving body weight loss, reducing mortality, shortening colon length, and decreasing tissue damage and inflammatory cell infiltration, as well as decreasing levels of inflammatory cytokines in colitis mice.
- Inhibits fibrin polymerization
- Increases free thrombin generation
- Alleviates DSS-induced colitis
- Improves body weight loss and mortality in colitis models
- Reduces colon length shortening in colitis models
- Decreases tissue damage and inflammatory cell infiltration
- Lowers inflammatory cytokine levels in colitis mice
