Biotium Bacterial Viability and Gram Stain Kit - 200 assays
The Bacterial Viability and Gram Stain Kit contains three dyes (CF488A WGA, DAPI and EthD-III) for distinguishing between gram-negative and gram-positive, as well as live versus dead bacteria. CF488A-labeled wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) stains the N-acetylglucosamine of the peptidoglycan layer of gram-positive bacteria with green fluorescence. Ethidium Homodimer III (EthD-III) is a nucleic acid binding dye that is membrane impermeable, which selectively stains cells with compromised plasma membranes with red fluorescence. All cells stain blue with the membrane permeable DNA dye DAPI. One kit is sufficient for 200 assays when used according to the kit protocol. The Bacterial Viability and Gram Stain Kit has been tested on the following bacterial species: Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis, Escherichia coli, Micrococcus luteus, Pseudomonas fluorescens, and Staphylococcus epidermidis.

Live-or-Dye™ Fixable Viability Staining Kits are cell membrane impermeable amine-reactive dyes designed for discrimination between live and dead cells during flow cytometry. The dyes are able to enter into dead cells that have compromised membrane integrity and covalently label free amines on intracellular proteins. The dye labeling is extremely stable, allowing the cells to be fixed and permeabilized without loss of fluorescence or dye transfer between cells. The Live-or-Dye™ staining protocol has been optimized to maximize live/dead discrimination with minimal live cell staining, in order to prevent interference with immunostaining. Live-or-Dye™ Fixable Viability Stains are dead cell specific in all cell types, including mammalian cells, bacteria and yeast. Live-or-Dye™ 405/452 is suitable for excitation by 405 nm laser line. This trial size kit has sufficient reagent for 50 assays.

The V-set and transmembrane domain-containing protein VSTM family is composed of 8 proteins VSTM1v1, VSTM1v2, VSTM2a, VSTM2b, VSTM2L, VSTM3, VSTM4 and VSTM 5. Members of the VSTM family are associated with the regulation of functions of immune cells, adipose cells and neuronal cells. The VSTM family is an immunoglobulin Ig superfamily that shares structural similarities with the B7-like transmembrane proteins involved in immune regulation. VSTM1 and VSTM4 play positive and negative roles in macrophage activation, respectively. VSTM3 TIGIT acts as a co-inhibitory receptor that suppresses the cytokine production of T cells and NK cells.

IL-37 IL-1F7 IL-1H4 is an IL-1 family member that is expressed only in certain types of human organs and cells such as heart, thymus, testis, kidney, mononuclear cells PBMCs and dendritic cells. IL-37 is a soluble and secreted cytokine of 218 residues that shares the beta-trefoil fold common to IL-1 family cytokines. But IL-37 is an atypical member of the IL-1 family of cytokines as it functions to inhibit many of the major pathways of innate and adaptive immunity and inflammation.
