Lotus tetragonolobus lectin (LTL) encompasses a family of closely related glycoproteins with similar specificities toward α-linked L-fucose-containing oligosaccharides. Although many of the binding properties of Lotus lectin are similar to those of Ulex europaeus lectin I (UEL I), the binding affinities and some specificities for oligosaccharides are significantly different between these fucose-specific lectins. This fluorescein-labeled LTL features a ratio of fluorophores to lectin protein that provides optimal staining (excitation 495 nm, emission 515 nm). Supplied as a solution essentially free of unconjugated fluorophores, it is preserved with sodium azide. The recommended inhibiting/eluting sugar is 50-100 mM L-fucose.

Sambucus nigra lectin (SNL) is isolated from elderberry bark and binds preferentially to sialic acid attached to terminal galactose in a-2,6 and to a lesser degree, a-2,3 linkage. Also called SNA (Sambucus nigra agglutinin) and EBL (elderberry lectin), SNL can inhibit cell-free protein synthesis. Binding is also inhibited to some extent by lactose or galactose. This lectin does not appear to bind sialic acid linked to N-acetylgalactosamine. SNA has been reported to inhibit cell-free protein synthesis. This fluorescein-labeled SNL features a ratio of fluorophores to lectin protein that provides optimal staining (excitation 495 nm, emission 515 nm). Supplied as a solution essentially free of unconjugated fluorophores, it is preserved with sodium azide. The recommended inhibiting/eluting sugar is 500 mM lactose in buffered saline followed by 500 mM lactose in acetic acid.

The sequence of the extracellular domain of human FCGRT (Ala 24-Ser 297) was fused with a C-terminal tag consisting of the AVI tag, TEV protease recognition sequence and a 10-His tag. Phaseolus vulgaris agglutinin (PHA) is a family of lectins, each consisting of four subunits. There are two different types of subunits: the "E" subunit (for erythroagglutinin) is involved primarily in red cell agglutination, and the "L" subunit (for lymphocyte) is involved in lymphocyte agglutination and mitogenic activity. These subunits combine to produce five isolectins. PHA-L has four "L" type subunits, does not agglutinate red cells, but is a potent mitogen. It is a specific marker for use in anterograde neuronal tracing. This fluorescein-labeled PHA-L features a ratio of fluorophores to lectin protein that provides optimal staining (excitation 495 nm, emission 515 nm). Supplied as a solution essentially free of unconjugated fluorophores, it is preserved with sodium azide. The recommended inhibiting/eluting sugar is 100 mM acetic acid.
Vector Laboratories Galanthus Nivalis (Snowdrop) Lectin (GNL) Unconjugated 5 mg
Galanthus nivalis lectin (GNL) preferentially binds to structures containing (a-1,3) mannose residues, such as many viral glycoproteins, most notably the gp120 coat protein of HIV. Unlike most mannose-specific lectins, GNL is not a metalloprotein and does not require Ca++ or Mn++ for binding. Binding is preferentially directed toward structures containing (α-1,3) mannose residues. Also in contrast to most mannose-binding lectins, GNL will not bind α-linked glucose. GNL binds to rat and mouse IgM but not IgG. The only human serum protein reported to bind to this lectin is α2-macroglobulin.
