RPMI 8226 cells are a human myeloma cell line that was established in 1966 from the peripheral blood of a 61-year-old male patient with multiple myeloma. This cell line was named after the Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI) where it was developed, and the number 8226 denotes its specific catalog number in the cell bank.The RPMI 8226 cell line is an important model system for studying multiple myeloma and related aspects of plasma cell biology, immunology research, and cancer therapy. RPMI 8226 cells are known to produce and secrete kappa light chains of immunoglobulins, a feature that is often exploited in research studies to investigate antibody production and secretion mechanisms.

Advanced Biomatrix HyStem-C Version 2.0 Thiol-Modified Hyaluronan and Gelatin Hydrogel Kit, 12.5 mL
HyStem-C contains thiolated hyaluronic acid & gelatin for easy 3D cell culture. HyStem-C version 2.0 is reconstituted with a buffered 1X PBS. The resulting components will also result in a pH neutral isotonic salt hydrogel. The ending pH, osmo, and rheological properties are the same from Version 1.0 to Version 2.0. HyStem-C hydrogels provide an excellent starting point for optimizing the matrix for cell culture. HyStem-C is fully chemically-defined and based on three biocompatible components: thiol-modified hyaluronan (Glycosil), thiol-reactive crosslinker, PEGDA (Extralink), and thiol-modified denatured collagen (Gelin-S). Gelin-S provides basic cell-attachment sites for a wide variety of primary cells and cell lines and is therefore recommended as an ideal substrate for adherent cell types and for cell culture optimization. In some cases, HyStem-C hydrogels can be further enhanced by the addition of ECM proteins to match native signals.

HyStem-HP contains thiolated hyaluronic acid, heparin and gelatin for easy 3D hydrogels. HyStem-HP version 2.0 provides the same cellular environment as HyStem-HP Version 1.0. HyStem V2.0 kit components will now be reconstituted with a buffered 1X PBS. The resulting components will also result in a pH neutral isotonic salt hydrogel. The ending pH, osmo, and rheological properties are the same from Version 1.0 to Version 2.0. HyStem-HP hydrogel is fully chemically-defined and is ideal for cell applications whereby the slow, continuous release of growth factors is crucial to re-creating a desired microenvironment. The HyStem-HP Hydrogel Kit contains a combination of thiol-modified hyaluronan and a thiol-modified heparin (Heprasil), thiol-modified denatured collagen (Gelin-S), and thiolreactive crosslinker, PEGDA (Extralink). The immobilized heparin in the HyStem-HP hydrogel mimics the heparin sulfate proteoglycans normally present in the extracellular matrix.

Vitronectin is a monomeric glycoprotein used to promote cell attachment, migration, proliferation and differentiation in a broad number of cell lines and types. This product has been purified from human plasma where it is found as a mixture of 75kDa and 65kDa polypeptides.Vitronectins primary use in cell culture is related to cell adhesion. It also binds to heparin and collagen.Vitronectin is ideal for coating of surfaces. The optimal concentration for cell attachment and culture may differ for various cell types. Vitronectin has been used at a final coating concentration as low as 50 ng/cm2 on plasticware. It is provided in user-friendly packaging for use and storage. Vitronectin is sterile filtered and is supplied as a ready to use solution after thawing and concentration adjustment. This product is shipped separately on dry ice.

BriClone is an additive for the cloning medium used in the post-fusion stages of hybridoma cell cloning. BriClone has been specifically developed by the NICB's dedicated team to overcome common problems in the post-fusion period such as batch-to-batch variation of feeder cells, and competition between feeder cells and freshly fused hybridomas for nutrients in the culture medium. To use BriClone, add to hybridoma culture media as a 5% (v/v) supplement. BriClone is designed for use in the post-fusion stages of hybridoma production and when cloning hybridoma cell lines under conditions of limiting dilution. BriClone, when added to culture medium eliminates the need for feeder cells in these types of cultures.
